Good Morning! I hope you enjoy this issue of Joyful Soaring Tips and find something that helps you have a Joy-Filled week!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~ 1) Joy Juice ~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sometimes the easy way is the right way.

Stop the struggle; increase the joy work.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~ 2) Taking Action ~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Think about all the things you do each day. Some of the tasks are easy for you, and fun, while other tasks take all your willpower just to do them at all.

a) Notice the tasks that feel easy and pleasant to do.
b) Notice which tasks are draining your energy unnecessarily.
c) Find ways to eliminate, delegate, or exchange draining tasks so that you spend more time doing the energizing jobs.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~ 3) Let's Ponder ~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Are you a Professional Struggler? (Term borrowed from Don Aslett's book, How to Handle 1,000 Things At Once.)

One of the ways we often make life difficult is by choosing to struggle. We force ourselves to do something. Usually, what we're forcing is something inside ourselves. What I've noticed is that people are often forcing themselves to do work they think they should do or work that's hard for them because they think work should be hard or any success they achieve won't be earned.

The truth of the matter is that if they are doing work that's a struggle, they'll eventually burn out, become depressed, ruin their health, or experience some combination of these.

The opposite of struggle is surrender - allow yourself to do the work you love and honor the value of that work. Do what comes naturally to you, what you do in your spare time for the fun of it. Accept that you're really good at what people keep mentioning about you and that it is valuable, unique, and precious.

If you're at a loss for what that is, it's time to go on an interviewing safari! Here's the question you want to pose to family, friends, and colleagues: What have you noticed that I do really well? or What do you see as my talents? Then you can ask for a specific example that led them to that conclusion. Once the person has answered, no "yeah, but's" from you! All you say is "Thank you," then write down what they told you.

~~ 4) Soaring Free ~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's an affirmation for you to use this week: The work I love expands to joyfully fill my life.
~~ 5) Play Time ~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Go into your living room or family room and choose one item in the room to put in a different location or use in a different way.

Add a new scent or a touch of some new color to a room.

~~ 6) Joy Supplies ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Summer Pops Concert series are coming up. Call a gaggle of your friends and go! Several of my most cherished memories are of Picnic with the Pops on the lawn of Chem Abstracts in Columbus, Ohio. Great music, good friends, and a fun picnic in the beautiful outdoors. Ahhh.
