Good Morning! I hope you enjoy this issue of Joyful Soaring Tips and find something that helps you have a Joy-Filled week!

~~ 1) Joy Juice ~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Enthusiasm means 'of the gods.' When you have an enthusiastic heart, all the heavens can flow through it." -- Sonia Choquette
"Humor is not a mood but a way of looking at the world." -- Ludwig Wittgenstein
Celebrate something you did because it was fun this week.
~~ 2) Taking Action ~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This past week, I attended Coach University and Thomas Leonard's Millenium Tour when it stopped in Houston (for information about the tour, go to www.coachingtour.com). Thomas has not been physically available in the coaching community since 1996. As I talked to friends, volunteers, and attendees, I was struck again with the value we all placed on connecting with Thomas and with one another. We all enjoy being part of something larger than ourselves and of something we love and believe in. Yet just belonging doesn't satisfy us all the time. We need to connect physically with one another. To touch and be touched. What an impact we make when we truly connect!
So, your action challenge this week is to make a personal connection with someone important to your life or your career, perhaps someone new who might bring a different perspective or approach for you. Maybe there's someone you've admired but haven't approached. Call them up, invite them to breakfast or for tea, and just get to know them a bit. Incredible things can happen when we reach out to others!
I hope you'll share with me how this works for you this week. When you write, let me know if I can share your story in a future edition of Joyful Soaring.

~~ 3) Let's Ponder ~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's a thought exercise we each might need to do: Go back through your checkbook and day planner for the past year and note what you spend money and time on. Make a list of What I Spent My Time On and What I Spent My Money On. Review those two lists to learn what you gave value to this past year. Are those the most important things in your life? Think about that then talk to your coach to help you make any adjustments you identified.
~~ 4) Soaring Free ~~
"Establish your stake in what you want. In other words, you have to know where it's going to lead you, what you're going to get out of it, and how it relates to your world view. It doesn't do any good to imagine that you want to be a doctor. You have to see yourself achieving rewards of being a doctor that are specifically important to you in terms of your reason for being in this lifetime." - Peter Kline
~~ 5) Play Time ~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Laser pointers have become fairly inexpensive these days, and I've found they make great workout toys for my cats. Well, actually, just for one of my cats. The other won't have anything to do with it - he only plays games that HE comes up with. But Pumpkin chirrups when he sees me open the laser pointer case, and then he starts watching the floor for that little red dot. He'll chase it everywhere!
This is a great toy because it gives me time with my cats, which is precious by itself, and it exercises my indoor cat. We both have a grand time together, and it doesn't take much actual time or energy. Do you and your pet(s) have regular play times together? I don't mean just walking the dog - that's a necessity! Do you play? Take time now. It's been proven to lower blood pressure and stress levels when we play with our pets, so what are you waiting for?
Don't or can't have a pet? Then treat yourself to a good plush toy or a sand-filled critter you can touch and pet. The tactile sensation and pleasure is very soothing. Or, if possible, get with a friend who has pets or visit a pet shelter. Again, what's important is making a connection and having fun!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today, I want to recommend two of the best resources I've found about getting organized. The first book is titled Organizing from the Inside Out by Julie Morgenstern, and it's full of great tips and logical supports for organizing each area of you life and keeping it that way.
The second book is titled Conquering Chronic Disorganization by Judith Kolberg. This little book is a quick and powerful read. You'll understand yourself and have clear strategies for getting and keeping yourself organized after reading Judith's book. If you're an ADDer, this is the book for you! Judith came up with the Body Double concept, one that is extremely effective for many people when it comes to organizing. Get these excellent books if you're looking for real help with your specific organizing challenges.
