Good Morning! I hope you enjoy this issue of Joyful Soaring Tips and find something that helps you have a Joy-Filled week!

"Faith is to believe what you do not yet see; the reward for this faith is to see what you believe." -- St. Augustine

Motivational speaker Tony Robbins talks about an idea being like a table with only one or two legs. It doesn't feel very solid or grounded. A belief, on the other hand, is a table with enough solid legs. We've identified supporting experiences which become legs holding up the belief. When we think of it this way, it's easy to see that we are in control of the number of legs we put under our table. Have fun looking for the good experiences you've had that validate and support your positive self belief.

Here are some great policies to implement in your family:

· Have everyone toss their spare change each evening into the Vacation Jar, and found money goes into savings.

· Half of all raises, bonuses, tax refunds, lottery winnings, inheritances, and money gifts go immediately into savings or some investment.

· Money saved or earned through clipping coupons or filling out rebate forms is divided half to the person who clipped or filled out the form and half to a vacation or special purchase fund.

~~ 3) Let's Ponder ~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ask yourself this question each morning:
What am I committed to in my life right now? How will I act upon that commitment today?
~~ 4) Soaring Free ~~
Do you sometimes get to the end of a day feeling tired and knowing that you've worked hard, yet there's a nagging feeling that you didn't accomplish anything important today? When we don't take time to choose how we're going to spend our day, it's easy to find ourselves feeling this way.
For each day this next week, take 5 minutes as you begin the day to identify one specific action you'll do that day toward a goal, dream, or project that's really important to you. Then do that action step early on. Make note of it, if you need to, so you don't forget. And check it off so that you give yourself credit and acknowledgement for taking the action. You'll get a nice sense of satisfaction and movement this way, and you may just find yourself with more energy and enthusiasm for the rest of the day!
What's your favorite old TV series? I have several: MASH, Golden Girls, and Star Trek Next Generation episodes. It's such fun to go back and watch an episode of some of these old shows. The only one of those I can get in my backwater hometown is Golden Girls, so I treat myself to an episode every now and then. It's such fun! And when I travel, I always check to see if I can catch an episode of MASH or Star Trek. It's such a coup when I get to see one!
Recently, we've connected with some new friends, and they have a taped collection of Next Generation episodes. What a treasure! So we try to schedule a regular night out with them where we cook a great meal then watch an episode of Next Generation and discuss it. Such joy!
Do you have a favorite show that you could build a special night with friends around? Or maybe it's a board game or a type of movie. The trick is to find something and do it! You'll be glad you did.
While my mother was here, we took one afternoon to go get our hair and makeup done, then we went and had pictures taken of the two of us. We had a great time with the photographer, choosing different poses and backgrounds. My mom is back home now, several states away, and the pictures just arrived. Such treasures! I just love family pictures. Now, I get to take down some older ones in our hallway and update them with these new photos. Then they'll be giving me pleasure every time I walk by, reminding me of my mother's visit.
Our hallway is a gallery of our friends, family, and wonderful times. I can't count the number of conversations with new friends that have bloomed from those pictures. And my partner and I often comment on one or another and a time or person they bring to mind.
Do you have pictures just hiding away in their photo shop envelopes? Plan a family evening to go through some, put them in albums, and choose a couple to enlarge and hang up. It's worth the effort!
